The Academy for Digital Entertainment of Breda University of Applied Sciences offers bachelor’s programmes in Game Architecture & Design and Media & Entertainment Management. The CMGT Game Architecture & Design programme is a full development programme teaching all aspects of game development. The Media & Entertainment Management programme has specialisations in Media & Entertainment Marketing, Production and Content. The Academy also offers a Master in Media Innovation as well as a Master in Game Technology.

Our programmes are both rated Number 1 in the national rankings (National Student Survey and Elsevier) because of the vocational approach and quality and experience of the staff. Job profile

The activities to be performed include:

  • Delivering lectures and workshops to students on both bachelor and/or master level.
  • Coaching and supervising students in Game-Lab, our in-house game development studio.
  • Supervising internships, specialisation and graduation projects.

Candidate profile  

  • Recent and demonstrable experience as a technical artist in a medium to large game studio. As a member of an international team you worked on AAA games with a focus on high production values.
  • Skill-set includes; rigging, scripting, FX, tool development, Unreal.
  • Subject matter preferably technical animation, visual effects, tools and/or procedural content.
  • Relevant experience with the latest art pipelines, technical requirements and tool-sets.
  • Proven aptitude for art and good eye for detail.
  • A recent portfolio of work (website preferred); applicants without a portfolio will not be considered.
  • A master’s degree is desirable as well as experience in the academic field. Applicants with a bachelor’s degree will be supported obtaining a master during their first years of employment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.

Salary & benefits

Breda University of Applied Sciences provides assistance to guide expatriate employees through the process of relocation and settling in. Dutch tax authorities may offer tax reduction to applicants from abroad (which makes tax rates comparable to the UK and US).

The salary for this position will be at level 11 of the CAO-HBO (Collective Labour Agreement), earning in between a monthly minimum of €3,477.27 and a maximum of €4,777.65 gross (full-time). You will be officially appointed in the function of Lecturer. You will receive a fixed annual benefit of 8.3%. Apart from this, Breda University of Applied Sciences offers you an 8% holiday allowance and a compensation for your health insurance. With a full-time position and a working pattern of 40 hours per week you are entitled to 10.7 weeks of holiday leave (including public holidays).
