The Academy for Digital Entertainment of NHTV University for Applied Sciences in Breda (The Netherlands) offers bachelor programs in ‘Game Architecture & Design’ and ‘Media & Entertainment Management’. The CMGT Game Architecture & Design program is a full development program teaching all aspects of game development. The Media & Entertainment Management program has specializations in Media & Entertainment Marketing, Production and Content. The Academy also has a Master program in Media Innovation. As well as a Master of Game Technology.

Our programs are both rated Number 1 in the national rankings (National Student Survey and Elsevier) because of the vocational approach and the quality and experience of the staff. The staff of the academy are recruited from all over the world (e.g. US, UK, Australia, Italy, Belgium, and the Netherlands) and all courses are taught in English.

Educational advisor 0,6 fte - 0.8 fte

Job profile

  • Advises the academy’s management team on educational policy and quality assurance 
  • Follows, analyses and assesses national and international, as well as medium- and long-term developments in the field of educational policy which are relevant to the degree programmes within the university of applied sciences 
  • Pays attention to innovative educational concepts and pedagogical developments   
  • Develops educational policy recommendations 
  • Develops educational policy at academy and degree programme level 
  • Has project leader responsibilities in the development of: 

            - educational policy 
            - teaching and examination regulations 
            - self-evaluation reports 
            - project plans
            - assessment reports (accreditation)
            - didactic training  

  • Analyses and provides advice on: 

            - policy and advisory documents 
            - internal and external evaluations 
            - educational development
            - interim examinations and final exams

  • Confers with national networks and other universities of applied sciences, and is involved in national meetings of the educational domains and outlines subsequent courses of action within the academy
  • Is involved in quality assurance by:                                                                                             

            - analysing internal and external evaluations 
            - co- evaluating educational processes    
            - co- implementing educational policy and educational innovation
           

  • Acts as advisory member in curriculum committees, assessment committee, degree programme committee, and if so requested, in project groups 
  • Contributes actively to processes of educational innovation 

Candidate profile

  • University degree in educational studies or a similar field
  • Broad knowledge of the educational policy and teaching practice of the degree programme and of the university of applied sciences, both nationally and internationally 
  • Good oral and written Dutch and English communication skills
  • Demonstrable advisory and policy expertise
  • Has strengths in interconnecting different personalities and interests 
  • Has strengths in writing accountability documents with a view to accreditation
  • Has an open personality and a feeling for organisational culture
  • Experience with curriculum reform and feedback loops is a plus
  • Laws and regulations constitute an absolute precondition to you, but within these limits, you are creative and innovative, always looking for maximum room to manoeuvre

Salary and terms of employment 

The salary for this position has been established within the career pattern of the CAO-HBO (Collective Labour Agreement) – scale 11 – and amounts to a minimum of € 3392.46 and a maximum of € 4661.12 gross per month for a full-time employment contract. You will be appointed in the position of Education policy officer.  NHTV University of Applied Sciences has competitive fringe benefits. You will receive a fixed end-of-year allowance of 8.3%. Apart from this, we offer you an 8% holiday allowance and a compensation for your Health Insurance.
